Here is where it gets harder to imagine, but I think that the overall effect would be similar for either set up.
haven't checked your numbers but the logic seems correct. so i think this means your tyre to fender clearance would be increased by 6.3mm with your smaller diameter tyres.

Thanks for your replies gents!

Chris, how long does it take for the suspension to settle? I've put about 150 miles on the car since having the work done.

SML, your set up (based on a 7" ET 55 Cup I wheel) on the front gives a total height of 24.4" (620mm) and a contact patch that is 9.3" (235mm) wide.

The 16" D-90 with stock 205/55/16 tires measures 24.9" (632mm) with a contact patch of 8.1" (205mm).

If I visualize the effect properly, the difference in height is 0.5" (12.7mm) and would be split equally between top and bottom (if you ignore gravity) so this would drop the car by 0.25" (6.35mm). Makmov, your car is set up with Cup I's. Do you know the front ride height? Your car looks great, and the front ride height seems similar to mine.

I have a set of Cup I's but will not mount them on the car until it's time to replace my current tires.

Thanks again!
Thanks

Not sure, I have not measured it.

However, if you get the correct size tires the overall diameter is the same for the 16s as ut would be for the 17s.

Mine has pretty much settled in 100 miles.

Wow Laker! Is that your cab? When did you lower it? What shocks/springs did you use? What is the final ride height? It looks great!

Thanks James and Makmov, I got it done a few months ago, once CJB964 was able to confirm it is possible to enter/exit my driveway without scraping a lowered 964. The OEM Cup 1s were refinished in a darker silver to make them a little different and aid in hiding brake dust.

HR Greens (last of the actual green ones) with Bilstein HDs. I haven't measured, as they pass the 'cool' test with me. I certainly can measure for you when I return to Philly.

Please do measure. From the photo your car seems to be at the height that I hoped for. It looks great!

Sorry to bring something old back up.
I believe the wheel set up below is what I require.
I have the same C4 with Porsche Factory Guards, but 993 Turbo S guards.
So NB points.

Does anybody know if the offsets below are right?
Seems outrageous, but I honestly don't know.

Wide body guards with NA rear arms is the same set up as the 3.8RS and they ran ET5 on the back. So I think you're after this:

18x11 ET 5 Rear

there is no right or wrong answer.

there are a number of variables ...
- tyre width
- ride height
- camber
- castor
- spring rate
- intended use of car
- tyre diameter
- probably some more ...

obviously this following statement is useless without the associated wheel width .... "75mm front, -60 rear"
