I know a lot of younger (under 30 crowd) are really starting to take notice of these cars. A lot of them grew up on Hondas and Nissans but many of the popular car blog sites (like Speedhunters or Fatlace) are doing tons of stories on Porsches and companies like Rauh-Welt and Singer. I'm a normal poster on another import car forum and I've seen an large increased interest in the 964s especially since many of the Rauh-Welt cars are based of this generation.
A lot of the crowd that were into Hondas as teenagers/early 20s are now looking at older sports and luxury cars as they've gotten older. For a sports car a 964 is an amazing value right now because you're getting that classic Porsche 911 feel but with a lot of modern amenities.

This is 100% true, I fall under this. This is my first post but I been lurking this forum for the better part of a year. And I would like to add that some of the younger people can afford this type of sports car now, a Honda is just not cutting it. I just sold my 2008 Honda S2000 CR for down payment on some type of Porsche.
