Calling the Gentlemen with Recaros - Help
I've had a look through old threads, but I would like some fresh and specific answers.
I can't seem to detach the seat belt receiver from my original seats... I've soaked the bolt in WD40 but no avail. Am I missing something?
Once I have the receivers off where do they mount to on the Recaros?
Bellow you'll find a picture illustrating the screw where I'm assuming the receiver can be mounted on the Recaro.... This seems like quite a flimsy place to attach... Am I missing a bracket of sorts?
TIA

I think what you will want to do is sandwich the receiver bracket between the side mounts and the slider. The stock receiver bracket won't have the correct hole spacing to line up with the holes in the side mount/slider, so you will either need to modify something, or buy a new receiver. I think Brey-Krause makes one?
Someone else (Bill Verburg) might have more definitive info than I, since my receivers are mounted to the tunnel.

If you get stuck call me, but for now you will need a socket that is ground flush to remove the reciever bolt as the hex is very shallow. With a socket you can use a breaker bar with plenty more leverage than your spanner.
As for remounting them, you will need a little bracket from Porsche that the RS uses. It fits between the subframe and the runner as said above.
None of this is easy, it took me 2 days solid and I am an engineer!!!

I'll pop down to the local OPC after work.
They came up on eBay with the runners and bracket at a good price! Old seats now on eBay.
They're so comfortable! Next will be a B pillar harness guide...

Frank, part number for the bracket in the diagram in this thread:

I believe you need the four spacer washers for each seat too.
p.s. Sit down before you ask the price of the brackets.

Spacer washers are item #27 on that diagram. The bracket goes between the mount and the slider which creates a gap, therefore you need the spacers to fill the gap between the other three corners (so you need 3 spacers per seat, not four as I said above).

Makes sense! I'll buy the appropriate washers from B&Q - have a feeling they'll be cheaper than Porsche! Thanks again Steve!

Frank, you are some type of an unstoppable robot sent from the future to modify your car!
@fuch AFN Chiswick are rubbish on the phone, after a couple of attempts I decided they didn't want my custom so I now use OPC Byfleet aka Camtune and they are somewhat better.

I couldn't help it, was the 'responsible' thing to do. I saved around £ 400, had I bought everything new... I'd have regretted it.
The trouble is they say there are some guys that always have to have a project car. There was an immaculate Carrera 4 sold by Phil Raby featured in Total 911, the owner had ploughed an obscene amount of years and money into it to have it perfect. And he sold it for the next project...
I am absolutely determined to not be one of those guys. When I'm done I won't sell! Besides theres no way one black C4 is enough in the London 964 group!
