NGK Spark Plug Wires
Just wanted to share some info on what I feel is a ripping good deal on wires for anyone who needs them. I recently replaced my factory originals with a set of NGK's and was very pleased with them.
First the good - These wires can be had on the bay for $159 a set right now - I may buy another set as a reserve at that price. Also, these wires have the Porsche correct 'Beru' connectors on them (the 'porsche' moniker is sanded off but they're clearly marked Beru), and the wires have the proper Beru crimping to avoid issues down the road. They're the same diameter as the OEM wires so they fit into all of the looms and spacers correctly, and the lengths were spot-on. When comparing them, I found that the NGK wires (shielding, composition) met or exceeded the specs of the OEM's.
The downside of these is:They aren't marked numerically for the cylinders so one has to mark them using the OEM set's lengths as a guide. There's another thread that contains this info and it was excellent to have. They also don't come with the various spacers and looms attached already so upon installation you have to swap over these pieces to the NGKs from the stock wires.
The installation was straightforward (though doing wires on these cars is always a pain) and I would estimate that removing the ends to run through the grommets, and swapping the looms and spacers over to to the NGK's added a little time (like 30 minutes) to the install, but I choose to run most of the wires sans ends anyway to avoid having to remove the A/C pump and to ease the fishing of the wires to the right side upper cylinders.
Anyway - thought that this info might be helpful for folks that don't want to spend over $400 for a set of plug wires. I spoke with the seller prior to purchasing these (to verify the Beru ends) and his comment to me was that when they're gone, they're gone.
BTW the OEM wire lengths are (thanks to dfinnegan):
1-1 8.75"
1-2 15.75"
1-3 20.50"
1-4 40.75"
1-5 42.00"
1-6 42.25"
2-1 21.00"
2-2 26.125"
2-3 30.25"
2-4 47.00"
2-5 46.50"
2-6 51.625"
coil-1 21.125"
coil-2 20.75"

I got these from Pelican: http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...%20non%2Dturbo
They're Beru wires, but without the end connectors (so you unscrew the oem ones and recycle them on these wires). Will report back on how the install goes...

I just picked up a set. Thanks! When I did a valve adjustment last fall I noticed my wires were oil soaked and completely degraded.
As always I am trying to keep my ownership costs reasonable and I've been trying to rationalize buying $500 wires for the past 7 months.

RSAErick - yep that was them - there's a number on the auction that you can call to see if he's got more. I chatted with him pre-purchase and he seemed to be a good seller. I got them very quickly but that's probably since he's in Riverside CA and I'm just north in OR.
Hope that helps!

Interesting.... the information says that the wires are only compatible with 89 - 91 964's; and not compatible with my car. Hmmm, I thought that the wires were the same for all 964's.

I bought the NGK's almost a year ago and did the job myself. Time consuming without knowing the lengths off hand but I am completely happy with the end results. I highly recommend them.

Seller reposted these on the bay - says he has 4 available. P/N is EUC030 which brings them up via search.
Special thanks to Cosmo99 - you're the reason I took the plunge on these and I appreciated your feedback prior to my purchase!
