Pretty powerful video. Amazing when you think it all starts with a 964 tub.

They offer a 3.8 and the 4.0.. Not sure if their original 3.6 is even an option anymore . As for how they can sell those engines, how do any of us run them? It's not up to them to pass emissions testing, that's our problem. I'd gladly "deal" with that hassle for one of their 4.0 setups.

The Singer posted in this thread looks like it's still a 3.6l. Definitely the most mundane (by Singer standards) motor build they've put out.

I agree the 4.0 liter would be an interesting experience.

If they are using a disclaimer "intended for off road use" I must assume it is not compliant to restrictions applicable to the MY of the car and if the inspection checks for original cats and other EPA equipment as they do in some states not sure how they get away with it. Must be some loophole or are you stuck with a 3.6 in those states. Can't understand why you would pay up for all this and keep the 3.6 at only 270 bhp you can easily achieve that with minor tuning. The real value is in that 4.0 although the 3.8 I have no doubt has some punch.

I'm Massachusetts we follow the same insanely strict guidelines as ca ny and vt, except we don't have the loopholes like sb100. It took me three months to get my noble registered here, and I bought it in state with a legal MA title. My cammed catless 964 breezes through inspection because there's no obd inspection. Just a visual.
I'm sure anyone inspecting a singer will have so much more to look at other than the cat situation. I'm willing to bet it's just a disclaimer in case anyone had an issue. And for 500k, I bet dinger rill go through hoops to make sure your car passes

I have to say I met Rob early on when he was just started producing cars. I was seriously connsidering buying one of the first cars and think I could of bought one for around $300k. I went to Aria and saw the shells and the quality and thought going in to theses cars is worth every cent of what he is charging for them. I live in CA and my biggest concern at the time was the issue raised here about passing emissions ( guess I should have contacted VW for some advice). I went and found a reasonably clean stripped 72 shell with the idea to build a quality singer equivalent but based on the 72 and using all metal with no glass or cf. have to say we are into year 4 on this build and have fabricated almost every piece of the car. TRE (Dave) is spearheading the build and the guys at Axiom Motorsports are doing the fabrication work. Rothsport built a 3.8 that peaked out at about 345 which is plenty for a spirited street machine. Getting closer and tons of custom touches still to come...... In retrospect...the Singer would have been cheaper and I would have been driving it sooner..but excited with how it is Turing out

Do you have a build thread for your >$300k '72 911 project?
EDIT: Found it.

If I can build a car that will keep up with most anything on the track for about the cost of a nice 20k mile 93-94 964 C2 today and look almost as nice as my 3.6T I can only imagine what I can do with an unlimited budget. 345 BHP on street gas is impressive no doubt and Steve is the man to build it. Most of the 3.8 builds I have seen cost a small fortune and gain very little in comparison to the money spent. I have a friend who is contemplating a build now. I recall Geoffrey's 3.8 RSR build and the car in person was impressive but it was a pure race car and not remotely close to street legal with similar power. My stock 3.6 with tune is seeing 280 ft pounds of torque and 291 hp I have to admit it makes a huge difference the extra power would be very nice especially in a car that weighs 2300 pounds?
In NJ if the car is sold through a dealer it has to meet the original DOT requirements for the MY to be sold that is why I questioned the off road use disclaimer? I know of a nice SC that has SSI boxes on it that the seller wanted to trade in and the dealers all don't want to be bothered since they can't locate original exhaust for the car. So the car can be sold privately at the buyer's risk but trading it in is not an option.
BTW it is coming along nicely and I love the color maybe some updates on the progress?

I'm a big fan of frunk oil cooler systems in 911s to distribute weight. (link to thread: Frunk mounted oil tank (ultimate design?)). My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I read that you integrated the oil tank inside the gas tank. WOW. Please share more details of that impressive unit.

Thanks for sharing your build. Singers are amazing, but I'd have a lot more fun doing a project car the way you are going it. Nice touches all round.
