I take you've heard about the missing front brake calipers for their car, they've have to buy a new pair. Bet they find the others on Tuesday morning.

I asked for the printout so I will have the numbers at some point. But from memory James said. RS minus 5mm ish with slight rake, 1.5 rear camber, 1.25 front camber, bit more toe tan stock at the rear and a bit less on the front (5mins). Steers on the throttle for the first time since I've owned it, joyous.

I've been dreaming about those stupid callipers for 2 nights, just as I get to see where they are in the workshop, I wake up .

And then we have a large stock of rear lights, both centre sections and corners and I couldn't find nearside corner on Monday - ordered replacement which arrived Tuesday, just as one of my techs finds it.

Anyway happy now at least.

So, everything got done in time for Spa back in March and a wonderful snowy time was had by all. The new ARBs and alignment worked a treat both at Spa and then at a cheeky little track evening at Brands Hatch a month later. Though there was a minor issue with poisonous exhaust gasses getting into the cabin, about which the less said the better.

In the cold light of day it was clear that in the race to meet the deadline some of the bodywork wasn't quite up to snuff, and when we looked at it together, Ken and James at 9e and Kevin at the bodyshop all agreed a couple of bits needed addressing to really do justice the hard work they'd put in.

I dropped the car back to the bodyshop at the start of May for the "second sitting", I popped over today for the final sign off on the paintwork and I am very happy indeed. It's a really lovely job and once Ken's detailer has had his way with it next week it is going to be far too good for me and my ham-fisted car washing skills.

Looks nice and shiny!
How do you rate the 595rsr? And what sizes are you running as they are quite wide for their size?

225/45R17
255/40R17
(like many track day tyres they come up pretty wide - so the 255 is more like 265mm)

From Camskill £519 for the set

I like them, they are a "mixed use" tyre, not a full track day one so they probably lack the max grip of the 888s, but they are very good (quite pressure sensitive and outside of their window they do drop off) and work well in the wet and even snow compared to full on track day tyres.

I put them on the GTR which is a front heavy 400bhp tyre killer and they are great and lasted one of my patented 1 hr endurance track day runs at Silverstone with no ill effects. Nice progressive breakaway too (which the 964 isn't really powerful enough to experiment with). A full road tyre would have been ruined and like jelly after a few laps.

Some guys with heavier cars or more powerful have complained they don't have many heat cycles in them and once they are done they are pretty low on grip. But I think this tends to be semi race or time attack usage, and I am not that tough on tyres.

Basically I want a cost effective tyre that will grip better and last better than a road t yre on track days and can be safely left on for everyday use. These fit the bill.

^^^^^^^
Thanks for the info, I went with a 255/40/17 and a 215/45/17 as the 225/45/17 was a XL rated tyre.
