Well it's been six weeks since taking "aircool" in for a rebuild and after talking to Paul at Perf. Auto it seems the intake valves are "tuliped" to the point that they heed to be replaced...cha-ching.
Also, some oil lines are hard.... you know while we're in there we might as well do a clutch and assorted bearings....cha-ching.
I am now closing in on spending about what I paid for the car last year ...but when all is said and done she will be awesome & can't wait to get her home.
Is it worth it?...you bet it is. Considering the combined cost of the car and rebuild there just isn't anything out there at that price point that compares to a well sorted 964.
Yep definitely worth it but if your experience is the same as mine, it could take a couple of thousand miles before she loosens up and feel the full pay back.
I ran mine in for 1,000 miles and had the oil changed before opening her up to the red line. She only seemed a bit more responsive than before. I then put on another 1,000 miles and the response just got better and better. Then took her on track and was stunned at how she pulled effortlessly and rapidly to the red line.

Thanks for the heads up. I plan on taking my time with the break in & look forward to a lot of trouble free miles.....to a point.
Love your glacier( is that the right color?) white 964 alan! I loved it when I saw it. Only reason i turned it down was because he was being stern on his asking price with me and there was good leak from the middle of the engine seam. Otherwise its a beauty and I love that fact you are basically making it a brand new and epic/timeless specimen! Good stuff, just thought I'd share these pics with ya.

Thanks for the pics...I've since ditched the 18" OZ wheels and have a set of cup 2's on it now. The 275's & 225's were a bit too much rubber ...looked nice but not practical.
I liked the look of those rims, but I def. understand about the practicality of it. I tried to mount my 18 inch turbo twists and they rub my oil lines in the back so i'm sticking with my cup II's as well
