I could completely understand a $5 charge that goes toward store credit to keep the riff raff from blowing out their inbox. $50 per serial number is absurd.

^^ I think it's a min 99 for a single wheel but includes up to 4 wheels. I agree, though - a smaller charge to deter those who aren't serious would be as effective.

If they are looking to deter non serious buyers a full refund would work just as well. In either case they are charging at a min $49 for the service even if you purchase from them. To me that is a turn off but seems to be the world we live in.

When I ordered my wheels I told Fikse what my car is and that a wanted FM10s. They knew exactly the offsets are and what the size should. I took them for their word. They are in the wheel business and do this everyday. When my wheels arrived it was plug and play. Perfect fit.

Makes sense. I bought these used and were originally sized a little more aggresively for the front at 18x9 +51 - so changing the rear barrel to 1 inch less for a 18x8 ends up somewhere around +38 which I'm a little worried about. Looking for a junk tire to mount up and see!

Wow I just looked back at my posts from 2011 and boy have things changed since then. I didn't even have copies of some of those photos still. Hard to believe it is the same car.

Best I can come up with on these fronts is +38 - they are 18x8. I think because they were originally a custom race wheel at 18x9 - they really pushed the offset but @forklift had them on the front of his RSA with hoosiers - so you would think the offset would be fine. Just trying to sort all that out before I pay to refinish these. Currently looking for some junk tires to mock up. I guess I could just buy the correct PS4S tires and mount them...unmount them later to refinish.

What are your rears like? Long shot but possibly move the rear centers to the front if they have a different offset. You're refinishing them anyhow so might be worth looking into. I don't see 8 ET+38 working without lots of negative camber.

Oddly - moving the centers does create an et50 18x8 on the front - but then coincidentally makes the rear ET38 (ish). I attempted to measure the depth of the material at the lug seat to see if I could have the rears milled a little and it was @10mm - so I wouldn't expect it should go any less.
