I've done it. Looks better, cleaner and it sits more flush to the body. Buy the 993 screen, outer frame and glue kit. It' s a bolt on package and it also seals better which prevents rust in a pillars. I have a pic somewhere but it looks like a 993.
Thomas
P.S there are many threads about this if you do a search
yes, Thomas has some old posts you can search although I haven't seen his photos. if you search there will be others. installation is more conventional since it's glued. and preventing pillar rust isn't a bad thing either.
Here is what Tyson told me.
"It does fit. It is basically the same windshield bu has plastic clips attached that center it in the opening. It is glued in place, and is flush mounted.
It has better aero properties, and by virtue of being glued in place, it stiffens the chassis by acting as a sheer panel to the windshield frame."
Excellent. That's what I wanted to see. Looks great from here. Was there any problem on the inside with the headliner margins? I understand that there is less coverage or something.
It would be really good to see a photo from the inside too.
Here is a model just for fun, not that it really matters for us. There is clearly a boundary at the top of the windshield. Pretty good eddy behind the flags too. I wonder what the aero's look like.

Went to Safelite, their price installed is $618 unlimited breakage.
Porsche will sell me the glass for $800, I have to get it installed, they are looking into having their folks do it, the price is the same for 993 or 964 glass.
The body shop will charge $581 installed, if it breaks I pay.
A little OT, but Thomas, that's quite an extension you have on your Cup wheel. Do you like having the wheel that close to you?
Yeah, i'am 191 cm tall so i have to sit a bit back in order to get some leg room. And on track i want the wheel in the correct track position with bent elbows. With a manual rack i also need some leverage.
by the way mine was 380.00 installed by safe lite aftermarket.
Wow, I Googled the Safelite site and went through their online pricing menu. $393! Front Windshield, With painted band, Green Tinted Glass with Green Shadeband at top, Antenna
I'm going to check into that for installation with my upcoming paint job. I was cringing at the $600-800 glass price, + rubber, + install....
safelite gave me about teh same price as well roughly 600. Have a small chip that has been filled but still notice it so is on teh list of things to do
