Default 964 Performance enhancers | chips, etc??

I've read quite a bit on the 964 performance enhancers, so much so I started by ordering the steve wong chip from 911chips.com. I just posted yesterday that I bought a 1990 c4 and was somewhat surprised about it's performance (slower) compared to my chipped c2. With that said, can I get some final recommendations on what else I can "bolt on" that is relatively easy for my new C4 so I can get some better performance. I took everyone's word on the chip, after that, I'm a little lost.

Thanks to all!

I have a Steve Wong Chip and a Cup Pipe. I am thinking about installing a Cat Bypass and updating my Chip. I believe that is about all there is to do as far as bang for buck mods go.

If you haven't updated your suspension that would be another high value upgrade.

Maybe headers of equal length for all cylinders,
secondary bypass, catbypass and (custom) chip.

Then remove interior for some wieght if you like the race look, and just for the feeling of some weight loss.

There are lots of things to do:

Cat by pass, Cup pipe, G pipe.

One upgrade that is also worth doing is Mass Air Flow conversion ( from 993 ) with plastic intake manifold if your car is an early example.

Once you have figured the combination for you, then get the Steve Wong chip that will take the setup you have chosen into consideration or a custom chip.

The best one and cheapest is to lose weight - light weight seats are popular.

It's a bit worrying you find your C4 feels slower - it shouldn't. As I understand it the two 0-60 times are so close and varied it's negligible.

You'll find many, many, many 0-60 times all over the internet - it's impossible to really know, as an accepted truth most will tell you the times are negligibly close.

Officially Porsche said 5.7 seconds, some journalists managed 4.5 seconds in a C4....

Anyway for me the next big thing performance wise will be the MAF conversion and a custom chip - one day.

There is nothing quite like losing some weight but in regard to simple motor mods go. I have a 964 that I use for DE's in the PCA. I have GT Racing Headers and a stinger as well the the Steve Wong Chip and a K&N air filter. I also cut large holes in the right side of my air box. This is a big improvement as well.

If the budget could be there, and if you don't have plans to run the car in PCA stock classes, I wonder if a re-gear might trump all other mods after the suspension/exhaust are done.

Re - gear is expensive - depending on how many gears you want to replace - figure 4K easy just to pop out and back in plus parts -
I have a MAF with several chips from ProMAx - is a drop in - is worth a few extra ponies-
would go with a cone filter and a 90 degree elbow before I cut or drill my air box - just to keep as stock in case of resale. Cone filter is good - have the 90 elbow - 3 inch and cone filter that goes with MAF. Were are you in ATL?
Best bag is to change to a new ECU and drop in coil packs to replace the dizzies - so far I have seen a 42 HP increase. But I have done a few more things - but not opened the engine yet.

GT Racing - your car really looks great - like the lines and the detail ( clean and simple) - don't want to steal the thread - but would like more info - is it a 964 or older model with updated bod?

The last 6 pages of most automobile magazines are filled with ads for "performance enhancers".

Apparently, if you buy their product, you'll end up naked on a beach with a hot 20-year-old blonde on top of you.
