unplugging rear heater
is there any harm in me unplugging rear heater 2 pin harness to turn off the blower until i get my new tubes for footwell? will it do any harm to engine bay or take something else off line? i went to inspect for leaks due to tear in paper tubes and found a few rips and tube very brittle in passenger foot well area so i removed it and unplugged the harness to blower in engine bay so it wouldn't blow hot air towards the cab.
Also has anyone used 3" aluminum flex pipe instead of oem paper tubes?

It's a $13 part, I just replaced mine, same situation. Check PelicanParts.
You're still going to get heat pouring in even w/ the rear fan disconnected. It's an auxiliary fan. The engine's cooling fan also works to push heat through the piping.
