Default pic of my new baby

well just returned from a nice 100mile drive with my new baby.Glad to say that both my kids my 15 yr old girl and my 12 yr old boy fit in the back and my wife in the front and our little dog made for a great evening.

now then to another curious question.I got back and i started poking around under the dash on passenger side to see what was under there and found some things i do not know what they are and appeared to be hacked together. so can you guys take a look at the pics and chime in as to what they are.
First there is this cable that has a connector at the end of it that is zip tied to my heater duct

Next there was this box that appeared to be partialy melted and a circuit board inside that was wrapped in electrical tape. The black cover on the box that was partial melted has the part number on it and says sachs 488 911 618.113.01

still trying to figure out why my traction control does not even come on ... no yellow light or action when i flip the switch on the console.checked my accelerometers and they appeared to be clean.

The round connector is from the original radio. I think it comes from the amplifier that is below the passenger seat.

Smart, get the whole family involved. I have two little one, and people always comment and watch us get in/out in parking lots. BUT, you have grown kids in comparison! That must be a real sight.
