Steering Stop Question 964/993
I am in the middle of upgrading the front suspension of my 964. The upgrades include 993 uprights, 993 shocks, 993 tie rods, and 993 brakes. Had to keep 964 ball joints to fit the stud in the control arms. My question is on the steering stop used with the 993 tie rod to fit my 17" wheels. What steering stop should I be using (993, 964 6mm, or 964 10mm)? Does anyone know the width of the 993 steering stop?
Just looked at the two tie rods and the 993 tie rod is longer than the 964 tie rod. It sounds like the steering stop on the 964 is supposed to installed 3 to 4mm inboard while the 993 steering stop is flush with end of the tie rod thread. Does this offset distance change because of the length of the tie rod?
Any help would be appreciated.

You need to use both the inner and outer tie rod ends when converting to 993. Use the 10mm steering stop to start. Depending on wheels, alignment, and ride height, I've made custom steering stops all the way out to 25mm for some of the race cars.

I am using the entire tie rod for the 993. I am surprised how different the tie rods are between the 964 and 993. Is the purpose of the steering stop to make the tie rod longer (not thread into the rack as much)?
Do you know the width of the 993 steering stop (993.347.325.01)? I have them on order at the moment.

Going to bump this for a question:
I'm going to be replacing my one of my tie rods soon, and figured I'd do the steering stop install as well since my passenger front is rubbing hard on the arch.
Is there another source for these things? Tough to swallow ~80$ just for these two tiny things.
