I agree with you, here in Chester County, PA there is a local Dealer with a very nice air cooled Selections, he has currently 3 in his inventory which he is asking in the mid $50k for them.
I think for this money you can buy a 3.6 964 which is a much more desirable car. Most people are attracted to Rare vehicles, which are not always desirable. I am not saying a C4 is not a desirable car, but if you ask anyone on this bord if they would rather have a 964 C4 or a 965, the answer is pretty obvious.

I picked up another 94 964 two weeks ago at the end of the day paid $26500 92K miles from a dealer
he had it listed for $34K the other one I have i paid $32K at 40k miles 7 year ago.
