I recently just bought 4 jackstands from HF they are just your average 3 ton V shaped stands, so you can imagine my frustration after hearing they aren't very good to use with the car. So my question is, is there anyway to somehow mount like a hockey puck or anything to it? Seems somewhat plausible but crazy :[

Link to those covers?
I have these Craftsman pieces, and the V-shape isn't as exaggerated as the ones you have, but i'm still not sure if they're going to be appropriate for use on the car.

I'm a recent new owner. I'm assuming you are too?

Hey rob, thanks for posting this pic. These look like jacks I would be comfortable using. I agree the craftsman and other vshaped jacks have always scared the poop out of me everytime I've used them.

Where did I get them? Ultimate Garage but Google shows they are available from multiple suppliers.

I used the cheapie v-shaped stands for a while, then just recently before a coil-over upgrade I splurged and got a set of 4 Esco's and they are great, pricey but rock solid.
As matter of practice and habit I still slide a few wheels under the car with me in case of catastrophic failure but felt really safe wrenching away at a few stubborn nuts.
highly recommend the Esco's if you can justify the cost, in my case it was piece of mind when under the car, and as much as I love my 964, do not want it to land on my face!

I love them. Very sturdy and well built. And they fit our car's jack points very well. I use them almost exclusively in my garage. The only time I don't is if my Escos are already in use and I need another. I have thought about buying an extra set of 4 but may not use them that often. Hmm....
