I have some AC Hydraulic ones in my shop (like the Esso above), but have the Snap-On Bluepoint ones in my trailer as they are very light and work quite well.

I have two Esso and two Jack Point stands that are awesome. It is now super easy to get the car up off the ground

That's brilliant! I was looking at the aluminum OTC pin ones, but I may re-think that now.

Close - at least on the gum and matchstick part. The first steel prototype was patterned after a full size model made from scrap cardboard and held together with duct tape.

I'm going to take a wild shot out of the dark here and say you helped design them?

Let's just say the cardboard concept was created in my basement at 2 AM and I tested the concept on my 964 at 3 AM. That was in 2007. Alot has happened since then and I've listened to what many people have said along the way.

Pelican appears to sell the Esco ones for less than other online sellers: $69 each http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...er=TOL-10497-1

Looks like a reasonable price.

I'd love to have 4 Esco stands...

Until then I have regular V-shaped Sears 4-ton jackstands. Recently I found and installed the Harbor Freight rubbler pads that fits over the V. I like the extra, grippy friction the pads offer.

There was a time when IMGT3 Performance had a deal going for Rennlisters that even I couldn't beat. I don't know if it's still on - but you might check.
