Well you have to be creative and if you use the rear jack point to jack the car up you can get the stands under the front points and then jack up the engine to get the rear stands under.

I would get the rubber jack pad tool, and the Porsche 964 special jack adapter for your jack.

The flat top ones will not distroy the jack pads under the car.

What I would do is get a matching set of harborfreight stands and get the rubber pads for them. It will help protect the points under the car and make a good anti-slip stand.

But the V shaped ones are usable in the meantime right?

you just have to be really careful with them.

you just have to position them just right so you don't have the very top pointy edge of the stand somewhere where it will damage something or decied to pop out and shoot the stand across the garage.

I would never jack a 964 as high as I got this without stands with rubber pads.

One small detail on the oil temp, It may not specifically apply to the 911:

But don't let you car idle for 15 mins to check or do anything, unless your life really depends on it. You are better sitting in the car on a fast idle 2000-2500rpm with your foot on the throttle than leaving it sitting on idle. It is so bad for a cam, i would never let a car idle more than a couple of minutes even in traffic jams.

+infinity, I read this for the first time in the official Porsche user manual that came with my car. Something along the lines of, don't let the car idle to warm up, that it's designed in such a way.
