Default Hawk's Monday post- April 4

Well, looking at my calendar this week, not a dang thing will be done on the Porsche if I don't get to it tonight. Tomorrow, my daughter has soccer, Wed I'm back to my baseball season gig, Thursday my wife has arranged for a couples massage, Friday is open, but it will be spent with the family before my wife and I go for an overnight for her birthday Saturday. Sunday is another day at the stadium too.

Crazy week, but it was a kind of relaxing weekend. I was the photographer for a wine tasting charity event for a Montessori school. Worked on editing images yesterday, and no Porsche work was done. Still need to get a few pictures of the welded/painted part.

So what about you?

So what about you?

I'm waiting the day out here in Bugtussle and probably won't sleep tonight.

Tmrw is Tues and I have claimed the 6:17pm slot for the first Bugtussle "Tuesday" post - as the Hawk has Monday and Friday locked up...

Claudia is still in Tualatin - new news is the fact that she will be recieving 993TT brakes and a bit of front end trick Jeff has up his sleeve.

Kai, anyone can start a post. I borrowed this idea from a motorcycle forum I used to be on. It was a way to share stories with fellow riders. I liked the idea, since this forum is an extended family. We all have technical needs, but it's fun to see how we spend the rest of our time too; some Porsche related, some not.

Perhaps start a work week post where we can moan about our 9-5 lives. You retired folks can complain about how you got Bosch spark plugs at Pep Boys for 4.19 only to learn that Autozone has them them for 4.09. So you returned them cos, it's twelve we're talking about.

Gotchya 100%. Just a dig - as your Mon and Fri posts have a great history.

Yep, I've read through thousands of pages here in the last few years...one would think I've learned a few things, but noooo...

The Tuesday threads will update our work here at Bugtussle (a major renovation of an old ranch here at the farm) and the fun stuff being done to (and for) Claudia, our new RSA - by the boys at rennsport.

I love this place; the car forums are great, and remain less edgy than the Racing "pit" which can get sharp - but nonetheless fun and far less caustic than, say, SailingAnarchy or Slowtwitch.

Peace, K

Retired, my ace!

It's hard work keeping up here and deciding what else to do with the car...I hope to actually be able to drive her someday!

not you personally, but there are some retired folks on the Forum and I didn't want them to feel left out

I have been driving my 2 cars a lot more lately with the cost of gas being so high. The 11 mpg in the Dodge truck is getting expensive. The 17-20 around town in the cars is a lot better and more fun

got my seal and rail tonight too. Quick shipping from Sunset. I love their service, just hate that it was $375 for the damn parts!

Default cab repair b-pillar pics

the welded part, and the replacement seal and rail

Part numbers for the left side seal- these supersede the 964 part numbers now, and cost 2x as much

seal: 993-561-321-00-8vb -$244.42
rail: 911-561-025-04-70b - $121.15

long walks since weather here is now so pleasant - yesterday afternoon (my monday) t-shirt weather, & cherry trees in full blossom. regarded here as sign of renewal, & boy is that ever needed.

its been talked about for a wk or so, but yesterday actual field analysis confirmed the height of the tsunami
wave of 3/11 at 39 metres....(higher than our apt., on the 10th floor).

http://english.kyodonews.jp/news/2011/04/82888.html

field surveys will continue as some academics believe wave height in some areas may have reached
50m.
pretty terrifying stuff & as yet no good news from the nuke plant.
