On mine, if I tried to call for a high fan in heat position, the front blowers would kick off. Hopefully, yours won't do that being a completely different unit without the A/C.

The jumper process doesn't work on early cars, with or without the resistors. For a/c, the front fans work okay unless you turn the temp **** all the way up in which they shut off. For heat, the front fans do odd things, randomly cycling on and off. I ended up updating to a later model ccu and providing a dummy load to get everything to work as it should.

I did the jumper trick and with my '90 model (and the 964 659 047 00 CCU) it works fine. Dash fans keep running when I up the temperature.

I'm stumped. I tried the jumper method on my '90 C2 with AC, CCU 964 659 047 00, and the AC fuse kept blowing. I just installed the relay based on SunLion's post in this thread (thanks SunLion!), and every thing seems to be in working order. https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...olution-5.html I need to drive the car to see if there are issues with the fans cycling, but I can't wait to pull that blower motor out of the rear and shave off another ten pounds!

Twelve degrees here yesterday, and the heat works perfectly. Two newly installed front blowers help. Ten pound weight savings, however, was illusory. The blower motor weighs 5 lbs. 14 oz. RS bypass duct weighs 1 lb. 2 oz. for a net weight reduction of 4 3/4 lbs. But any weight reduction at the rear of the car is a plus, and the engine bay looks much better.
12 degree day in New England, plenty of heat
Rear blower motor weighs less than 6 lbs.
Clean engine bay

Thanks kindly for your answer, greatly appreciated. Found the answer I was looking for after looking at wiring diagram for 2 days and running a few test. You just need to feed 12 volts to the yellow/green wire on the back side of the CCU to by pass.
again THANKS
