Brake Diagnosis

Brake Diagnosis
Hi Ho.
Need some "where to start" advise.
Took the RSA out of the garage for the 1st time this spring.
Over the winter I had several small projects going, one of which was to replace the front rotors. This task is complete. So when I took the RSA around the block a couple of times, warming up the new rotors all is "normal". I then decide to apply some "threshold braking"....so this is where the concern happens. Details are as follows....
1) Accelerate to about 45 mph
2) Apply firm brake pressure to the point of near lock up (threshold)
3) Just before coming to a complete stop I can hear the ABS hum
4) At the same time there is a "shudder", seems to be on the right side. Could be described as more of a "soft jerk/thunk". and then come to a stop.
This does not happen when moving less than 30mph. So any diagnosis steps like loose caliper (I dont think so), loose wheel (all torqued to 96 ft/lbs), suspendtion(sp)? Thanks in advance.

Could it be that the right wheel was trying to lock up (gravel on the road) and the ABS was just doing its job? From what you describe, that sounds like normal ABS shudder. If possible try the same on a gravel road and see if you get the same feeling.
