Default Hawk's Friday post-

Well, I've got to get the cab top back together. I started to mess with the motors, and found that the motors are all shot. I'm looking at replacing all 4 now, plus new cables. The effing motors are $400 each, and cables are $250 each. I'm looking at some serious coin to get it back to operational! The cheap paint job the guy quoted me turned into $200. It was already done when I picked it up. I'm pretty ticked about that too!

On top of that, my wife tells me we're expecting. No room for 3 kids in the Porsche. Anyone know a good Cayenne for sale?

Not sure what's next, but dammit all anyway. Give a guy a break!

Hawk - Expecting? Congratulations! Sorry to hear that your repair is taking more $$$.

I picked up my coupe from the mechanic with a fresh alignment and new tires. It was great driving it again. Unfortunately, we are getting a snow storm today so I haven't been able to begin using it as a daily driver yet. But I'm eagerly awaiting that......

My weekend will be spent trouble shooting an electrical fault in my GF's condo. Last Saturday, I replace a bunch of electrical outlets and since then, the light switches in one bathroom don't work. There is no power in the light switch box. I will be rechecking my work. Very frustrating. It should have been a simple task.

Hawk - Congratulations! always a blessing.... you're gonna have to pick up another 964 for the Mrs.

Got the car back yesterday from the mechanic. All dry and clean and shiny underneath, no daily quarter oil spot on my garage floor (pad). Have a vertex cup pipe and cat by-pass with a Wong 93 chip, but haven't had time to push it. Rain and snow today (no sh*t) dry this weekend,

Dang Geoff! You trying to breed a baseball team!
congrats
How can they charge $200 to paint a 18" long piece of metal?? You should have bought a $4 rattle can and done it yourself

the good news... cuz I'm effing old to have more kids-- she's not preggo, and the paint was free. I've had my car to that body shop a few times, so he did it for nothing. Looks good. I'll snap pics Waiting on the seals; hopefully before next Saturday.

Wow! That was a quick turn around. Still, a tough day for you, I'm sure.

Congrats! . . . before, after, and on the paint result!

Cheers

Dang, I wanted to start a Friday thread - you got Monday last also.

Claudia's still out in Tualatin, but being disassembled and most parts are in - I've registered for DE at Hallett end of this month so I hope she's done(we did land on a neat gear set tho, should be fun). Also set up for Hastings NE end of next month.

Work continues here at Bugtussle; the interior doors arrived, but I'm so far behind outside it hurts. Clearing out the old cattle ramps to set up a hops field (yep, they thrive in Oklahoma!) and hope to get a dozer in here tmrw so I can grade around the house.

Got the Jones to drive and my Z-71 doesn't want to...

The 993 handles and the H4 primer rings showed up in the mail this week. Getting them painted next week, I also picked up a spare set of matching Cup 1 wheels for "snow tires" - why I bought them I have no idea, I'm not even drunk - yet.

Good joke earlier!

Had the day off, and was able to install my new Fabspeed Sport Cat. The install was very easy. At idle, I don't notice much difference, but over 4000rpm, I think it wakes up a bit. Looks good too!
