i have the 993 engine with complete exhaust fit in a 964.c4

the exhaust end mfflers are just cut a litte on top, i hope you can see at the picture

Wish I done this on my 993 lump as I have fabspeed supacups and they are supa loud and resanate like a bitch so now need to fab a silencer on them and hope for the best!!

I was out for a while due to a work related injury but now I have started back up. We have gotten most of the car back together now. Pulled the trans lastnight cleaned up the motor a bit and now will start to remove the commin things and replace common seals and gaskets before putting everythin in the car. Pictures to come.

So I decided to go witht the 964 tins had to modify it a bit to fit cross over heat tube as well as line up with certain screw holes but I test fitted it and we made it work. Today I began the paint on the tins so we should be putting motor and trans in within the next week if all goes well.A little disassembly of engine to clean and change a few gaskets just to be on the safe side also put new bolts in the covers.We had to cut the heat tube off the rear tin to make it fit right.I then sand blasted the parts and painted them so a little time to dry and I should be able to start bolting everything back together.

Nice work, mines going in for the silencers in the next 3/4 weeks so will post pics up when done, I'm going for a de-cat at the same time so as long as I get no drone I will be happy..... Fingers crossed

Right some pics of how I got round the fix using standard 993 mufflers and a de-cat....

De-cat on and mufflers, bumper is just hanging on at the mo just to check what space I have to work with.....I have put on a extra metal tab with the jubilee clip as when I gave it a shake you can here it hitting the pipes when they cross....overkill??

I have put a extra piece of metal on the bumper hanger about1/2 inch to bring it over so it clears the muffler at the back and you can see there's good room for the oil line!!

The brackets will get a good clean up and new 10mm nuts when all happy with fit..

Ok here's the n/s bracket with extra tab to pull it away from muffler at the back!!

It's tight at the back corner as you can see but with a bit of trimming I think I can get this to clear fine!!





That's as far as I got today so will post more pics soon....
But if you do end up doing a 993 into 964 it can be done using the 993 mufflers with a bit of fiddling around as you can see...yippe!! No more supercups....

Ok all done happy with the sound of the exhaust it's got no drone now but sounds nice and "gruff" on idle and pops on down shift so I'm well happy, was going to do the rsr mod on the 993 mufflers but glad I left them stock as it just right.....
