Default Help with buying a A/C compressor

Unluckily (but logical in a 18 y/old car) my A/C compressor started to make noises.
My choices:

Wait till it goes down

Try to rebuild it here (not always succesful)

Buy a rebuild one in EEUU ¿best place to buy it please?

Buy a new one in EEUU ¿best place to buy it please? I have seen the Vertex price (1760 U$S) and it got me shivers in my spine.

What do you think?

What about an alternate supplier? I've seen their ads in Excellence magazine.

No affiliations.

Jim,
It is a Sanden not a Sanyo
Sanden is an OE AC compressor manufacturer for Honda and a few other makes.
Henry,
The original compressor is a Denso unit.
You can buy them from any Denso Distributor in your country as well as from someone like RMEurpean:

The Denso part number (471-1130) you can find on their site here:
