Wow, just passed emissions with no cat...
Ok, long story short. Last week I passed my emissions test prior to changing to a European Pre-Muffler Catbypass Pipe and a Primary bypass from fabspeed.
I already had the steve wong chip for no cat and primary bypass installed- passed with flying colors!
The problem popped up today, when going to register my 964, we realized that the Jiffy Lube had entered the VIN as WPO.... instead of WP0. The DMV would not take it. Upon further inspection, the vin sticker in the drivers door is actually incorrect on my car, the a-pillar is correct, but when jiffy lube scanned it that was the problem.
Anyway, already spent lots of time at the DMV, they sent me to the emissions lab- the guys were great, really helpful for real.
I thought they were going to just change the numbers in the system, but they said they couldn't. Imagine my horror when the state emissions lab said they would just hook me up for free and get me registered.
Fearing the worst, but knowing some people have reported passing with no cat, we went for it.
Sure enough- passed with flying colors with a pre-cat (passed visual inspection, thanks Fabspeed) and a primary bypass and steve wong chip.

this is ironic. I did the same just 2 weeks ago, no cat I was sweating while waiting in line, but sure enough the old man gave me the paperwork after the test and said the magic words....YOU PASSED

My car is registered as a "classic" so get to avoid the emissions test.
Adding a Cat bypass, cup pipe and Steve Wong chip (93 Octane, with Cat bypass) this week, now looking even more forward to it.
No you don't need to remap after adding the cup pipe
