Default New addition to the family 964 with pictures

So we finally picked up the 964 project. She is beautiful. Just as described in the ad. It was a long ride from NewYork to VA but it was well worth it and now for the slippery slope of while its there. LOL. We went straight from picking up the car to dropping it off at the shop and the process has already begun. I bought KAEFERs car and let me just say he is a gentleman and a man of his word. I have nothing but great things to say about him so if anyone deals with him you can be reassured he is trust worthy. More pictures to come. She will be getting stripped down completely and getting a fresh coat of black paint and fixing any little imperfections cosmetically. If anyone has any good ideas before the paint feel free to share them.Let me know what you guys think.

Beautiful car! Congrats on the purchase, at least it was able to go to another enthusiast.

By chance do you know what kind of splitter that is on the front? I am looking for one and would be interested to know the make and where I could get one.

Cheers

Ian

That cars looks mint from the pictures and hard to see why it needs paint. But it's a classic looking car. Love the colour too.
Good luck with the slope Go hard!

Beautiful car and welcome to the club! From the pictures it is not clear why the car needs paint.

BTW - you must have had a massive tongue weight with loading the car on that trailer backwards. Glad you made it home safely. With the U-Haul trailer, Im having a tough enough time staying within the 15% gross weight limit loading my 964 forwards.

I'd save the money on the paintjob and spend it on Motec.

There's no engine in the car so the tongue weight was fine!

Ian I'm trying to find out about the spoiler for you. Well guys as far as the paint there is a few imperfections as well as rust on the front cowl area and a little under rear window so in the meantime while searching for the right engine I will get her in great shape cosmetically. Everything else is mint. Suspension is great so after the full paint Windows out interior out fenders off you guys get the point lol then maybe a nice set of rims as well. I am in no rush because I want to make sure she is done right and comes out perfect. I will keep the pictures coming of the progress.

That's the right attitude! These are amazing project cars (as witnessed many times before on this forum). Can't wait to see how things turn out, thanks for sharing.

You mentioned ideas (before you paint), how about the narrow window frame mirrors (Ruf style)?

Looks like you're ready for some fun.

Smart to load the car back (heavy end) first, the old 60/40 weight distribution trailer loading rule.

Good luck with the project and please keep us posted with pics. I'm planning a respray soon and would like to hear the details of your experience.

Ian silver targa is right its from rennspeed I am told its the 964 3.8 rsr one piece spoiler. I love the look of it. frank yes there is no engine I have been playing with the idea of just putting a 3.6 back in it or building something crazy or maybe just a nice varioram. Not sure what I will do yet but I have time. If the right deal comes along I will grab it if not I am staying focused on making sure the exterior is done perfect. We got the sunroof out, some of the windows, most of the interior out tonight. Lots more to go. You guys know how it is. 911jetta I will keep that in mind thanks for the input. I will try to get pics within the next few days I have so many I need to go threw and sort them out. I want to make sure this build is done the right way and well documented for my own records and peace of mind. Stay tuned guys and keep the ideas coming
