Talking Only Metallic Silver 964s - Other Colours, Start Your Own...

Thought I'd start the Metallic Silver thread as there seems to be plenty of other threads touting favorite colors...so, here goes, just metallic silver, not polar, not arctic, etc...everyone else should swallow their envy and perhaps schedule some time at the paint shop...I'm just sayin'...

I guess this will be a pretty short thread. I didn't even know taht there was a metallic silver. It looks the same as arctic to my apparently color blind eyes. Nice car, though.

I could definitely stand to be schooled on this...I believe my color code is 980 - Silver Metallic and it may have been a special order exterior paint code...

Anybody else know if Arctic Silver and Metallic Silver may indeed be the same color? To my eyes Polar Silver has more blue in it (now I may be confusing Polar with Arctic).

My color is technically not silver metallic, but instead linen metallic, but in most light it looks like silver, without that blue hue the polar silver exhibits.

During daybreak or dusk, the color shines and its champagne underpinning comes out. The best of both worlds, I am partial to it at least.

Code 980 is Metallic Silver!

Here's my '90 C2 at the moment (in a few pieces)! It's not Artic, it's not Polar, it's Metallic Silver.

I knew about the linen silver, but not the metallic silver. I like it. I looks even whiter than arctic. I'd want it with a black interior, but still. . .

I actually like mine with the tan interior!

Love the cars so far...you can definitely see the pink champagne in the linen metallic.

As this thread is specific to silver metallic, let's see some Code 980's out there!

Code 980 Represent!!!

In case you need to do a bit of touch-up to the paint, Metallic Silver (code 980) is the exact color of the wheels. You can buy the paint made by Wurth from Pelican.

My old 996TT was a similar colour to this and it was called Meridian Silver.

Default Metallic silver

Metallic, arctic, polar or linen--they all look great and I just want to own one. I have been looking for one with all original paint and low miles for nearly 2 years and just can't find one (although I am willing to pay all of the money for the right car). They just must not have made many. Any leads to my dream car w/b greatly appreciated. Thanks, Gary
