Special cars like this are tough, because you need the right person to come along who will pay you a fair price. You won't get back what you have invested in it. I would contact TPC and let Mike know you are selling it.

Based on the description, it sounds like a really neat car. Good luck with the sale.

I agree. This car is perfect for someone looking to do DE events or just wants a beast for weekend driving. The previous owner is the one that had it built so he took the biggest hit thankfully as he has over $75k into the build. I think it was over $30k for the engine build and about $16k for the turbo kit alone.

I am hoping I don't have to sell it at all, because it is exactly what I want and I know I will never be able to build another even close when the time comes for what I will have to sell it for.

It looks like prices are all over the map for stock C4's. If I a stock version of my car would run between $20-30k depending on condition and KBB has it at $27k in good condition and $26k in fair. With all the parts, labor, etc to build this car, but deducting a little to take care of cosmetics (maybe a respray) would $35k be too high or low? It has about that much in the engine lol.

Tough crowd, but it looks like you might have already decided on a listing price...

Might just be me, but a Newbie/Introduction post in December and then a might be selling my car post 10 weeks later doesn't quite add up.

I posted it on CL just to see if there is any interest locally and estimated my own price (see above) since I have received no feedback. Not quite sure what doesn't ad up? If we end up trying to buy a second house before ours sells we could use the extra money for a down payment on the new house.

I did not realize that I had to be a member for some specified period of time before changes happened in my life that may or may not warrant selling something I own.

Uh..........on 12/1 you posted the car was a recent purchase. If that's not a comp, I don't know what it is.

Now, if you bought it cheap, and you're looking to maximize the sale price........all bets are off. Market is very illiquid on cars like these.

race911 thanks for the feedback. I know it will not be easy to find the right buyer which is the only reason I even posted it on CL. Figure I better get it out there just in case I got the car for a great price for what has been done to it, just as the new owner will, and have already invested a good amount of money into preventive maintenance and some cosmetics as I did not intend to sell this car anytime soon when I bought it.

I still hope that I will not need to sell it, but we live in Lutz, FL and my wife commutes to HSN in St Pete which equates to 50 mins to an hour in the am and up to 2hrs in the afternoon. We thought we were just going to sell, but after talking to a real estate agent there have been no comps for our house in the area. Even our house (ski lake house) takes the right buyer lol.
