Looks like, after further investigation, that the 3-piece wheels are Speedlines made specifically for a Boxster with the wrong offset for the 964. I'll let them go cheap if anyone can use them.

It was early in the week when I saw the ad, and before I decided to go down to take a look (2 hour drive e.w.), I showed the ad to the Sales Manager at the local San Antonio dealership. He said "We've looked at a lot of cars along the border and they're all ragged-out." However, the ad kept eating at me, and when Saturday rolled around I told my 11 year old son, "Let's take a road trip!"
Well this car was a real barn find. Perfect condition. The seller had even saved the starting instruction decals and re-applied them to the windshield. There hadn't been anything in the ad to suggest that this was a really nice car. I bought it on the spot.
I drove the car 200K miles and along the way learned all about Porsche 911's. Did everything from repainting the front clip to a complete rebuild of the engine. When the rings let go that last time, I drove it up the hill to the house and parked it under a tree, where it sat rusting and rotting for 10 years. Then I advertised it on eBay and sold it to a local enthusiast for $5K. It was a pretty good investment, as cars go, I think.
All because of an obscure ad in a small town paper.
