Hy,
A lot of trouble in my 964 C2. I would like to test my calculator DME by one other.
My calculator number is: 911.618.124.01 and my question is:
Can i change that by one other with number : 911.618.124.00 or 911.618.124.02 or 911.618.124.03 or 911.618.124.04
Sincerely
Christian

I think I read in Adrian Streathers book that you can use a newer one but not an older one.
So if that's correct you can use an 02, 03 or 04, but not the 00.
I don't have the book here at work, maybe someone can check for you if they have one at hand.
Good luck,
Bob

From Steve Wong 911chips.com ... hope it is ok to post his comments ...
Technically there is no operation difference between all the different units, it's the chip inside that each unit is delivered with that determines the different part numbers. The later chip programs allow the check engine light to provide diagnostic capabilities, which the earlier units can also be changed via a chip to do so. The only other difference is that the above units have the fuel quality switch built in which allows changes in ignition timing and fuel enrichment.
Maybe I'll give him a plug for the info ... Steve does DME testing & repairs, exchange units, great chips + other stuff.
