Default Where To Get Info About My C2

Was wondering
Where could I get information on my car...

I am looking for the build date or build date sheet, production number, options, and so forth. I assume that the VIN number would be needed to get this data. Do I have to go through Porsche or is there another way to get this info.

I would like to add this info to my records that I have for my Carrera as it is always good to have. Plus it helps me know the specifics about my car a little bit more.

I just recently got all these documents for my 2004 Cobra through SVT not through Ford.

Thank You.

the build date is on the plate on the driver door sill. The options are on the sticker under the hood and in the owners manual.

Is there something that you can get from Porsche in a document type of form....

Hey Andrew - what's up?

I'm pretty sure that a dealer can get you a build sheet if you call them with a VIN.

Otherwise, I'd just call Porsche NA customer service and tell them what you're looking for --- I am 90% sure that they can provide you a nice build sheet that you could put in your 964's records.

Good luck!! Let us know how it goes!!

Not a chance. PCNA is tight lipped about all of this info. If your car is older than a 1994 you are required to send them a window sticker or other info to get a C of A. which they charge for.

I can help with option codes if you post your vin but that is about all the info you can get. Build date should be posted on the door vin sticker. Without this some states won't even inspect your car.

Can't say that PCNA wanted anything more than cash and a filled out form to give me a CoA. Not worth the dough IMO.

Sorry it was pre 1993 cars. They will discount it $10 and I was told they cannot guaranty all info would be provided without a window sticker for those earlier cars. Doesn't mean it won't be complete but some options might not be exact on some cars.

pet 7 (downloadable global data base) may be your starting point////it is basically what pna uses i believe (covers all models all series)
i had downloaded from here...input your vin & will provide all info as it came from the factory.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=YTLVETN7

its a huge file, i used BITzipper cause they had a 30 day free trial to compress it

(svt is far more accurate in their build data than porsche....my turbo look cab certificate specified my former car as "america roadster" even tho it had been factory ordered in canada and branded per euro specs as a carrera2, & therefore should have been designated a wtl cab)

Does the PCNA-provided CoA provide engine and transmission serial numbers nowadays? I seem to recall seeing some recent ones that didn't, but I'm not sure they were from PCNA or not.

BTW, the ones I had for my old 95 993 and 73E did provide that information.

You just don't really advertise that stuff. Or if you're really paranoid....

"Someone may know someone who can run that VIN or license plate number, come to my house and steal my car" or "do me harm"

With the internet you never know what you're really dealing with??

Safeguard what matters...
