Don't be discouraged. Sounds like you avoided a potential money pit. Search Rennlist, Pelican, PCA.org, Craigslist, Autotrader, cars.com ebay, on a daily basis, you will eventually find a nice one. I would seriously consider expanding your search area beyond the east coast; nice 964 coupes are very hard to find and limiting your search area will make it that much more difficult. Best of luck

J
hehe, ah yes: "Humphrey"
I won Humphrey in a game at my wife's office Christmas party several years ago. It doesn't take much to get him excited.
When we were walking out of the restaurant where the party was (pretty raucous place), we passed a table of 20-something girls. Of course, I had to show Humphrey off. They were duly impressed. One offered to buy him right on the spot.

As Greg says, keep searching everywhere, maybe widen your search area, and be ready to jump when you find a likely candidate. I uncovered mine when I least expected it, and I called on it at the end of the day when I was tired, and discouraged from the last lousy PPI. If I had waited until the next day, it would have been gone. The market is certainly now improving, good ones don't stay unsold long. Good luck!

I agree hard to find good 964's, but also true to find buyers.

I searched and had a few fail PPI's until I bought the one I currently have. I don't drive it enough so toyed with the idea of selling, but had two people say they wanted it one moved and changed his mind and the other has to get permission from his wife. Why waste your or my time. Also not willing to give it away.
I mean i have a 91 c4 with 53k original miles and engine rebuilt at 38k miles blk on blk manual. thinking 24k is a good number for the car. Well guess I haven't really tried to sell it just more word of mouth thru here.

Good luck in your search

Jim, your avatar has all the right ingredients in just the right proportions.
Nothing to add, I just wanted to say that.

well I'd like to add that Jim's avatar explains exactly why I chose the 964 over the 993. The 993 might be a little more sophisticated in the rear (suspension) but who really cares once you're caught by the 964's classic headlights.

I couldn't agree more.

And I'm pretty sure the headlights in the avatar are factory, not aftermarket.
