Default The Quest continues!

I Had the PPI done on the 1991 Targa referenced in the "PPI ADVICE" thread.
Everything was ok until the compression/leakdown tests. Cylinders 2-6 were 2-5% leakdown and 185-190 compression. Cylinder 1, however had a 70% leakdown and 130 compression. They think it is coming from the intake side.
As a result of this PPI, I passed on the deal. The seller was very understanding.
So, the quest for a 911 continues!

Crud. But there are plenty of fish in the sea, if you're patient. I'm amazed how good cars continually seem to pop up.

I'm just curious: how did it drive? Did you have any sensation that the engine was down on power?

At least you got a good feeling about the mechanic which is good and should serve you well.
Now aren't you glad you sprung for the leakdown?

Being the first time I have driven a 964, I didn't notice anything missing. I would have lost a bet if someone were to ask me if everything was alright!

Dang! What a rollercoaster ride.

These cars aren't easy to find or buy, but as Bearclaw wrote, it's surprising the good cars that all of the sudden come to market. Having been through what you've been through already, you'll be much better prepared for the next one...ready to pounce. Part of the journey I guess?

We're all on the lookout for you now!

Joe,
I see you're from Raleigh...FV more specifically. I'm meeting a couple friends Saturday at Rush Hour Karting @ 3. If that's close to where you are, call me and let's meet up and checkout my car. I'm 90% sure I'm taking the 964 instead of car pooling with the guys. Call me if we can meet... 919-360-1641.

Of course I'll be taking back roads....passing by Lake Jordan from Chapel Hill until HWY 1. Ten-Ten Rd. looks fun (between HWY 1 and 401)?!

That's a bummer, at least you found out before making the purchase.

Nice black coupe on Pelican with recent clutch and top end.

Yeah, I saw that one! Very nice, but on the left coast...too far for me! Looking in the east.
