I'm trying to decide whether to replace my stock Catalytic with the Fabspeed Cat Bypass or to go with a Sport Cat. I already have the g-pipe and Fabspeed airbox lid.
My question pertains to California Porsche owners with the cat bypass or sport cat...any of you folks ever have the police or emissions-related authorities stop you for excessive noise and tag you for not having a catalytic converter or a CARB stamp on the cat? The only time emissions are checked in my neck of the woods is when the vehicle is sold.
What were the fines or penalties if you've gone down this road?
I'd like to think that the sportcat would be better than just the cat bypass for the emissions police but without the CARB, I wonder if I'd be in just as much trouble as with the cat bypass.
Fabspeed quotes a 2 horsepower difference between the cat bypass and the sport cat. Anyone think I should still just go with the cat bypass, and why?
Thanks!
