IB/Rennlist Fikse wheels
A little while back I was fortunate enough to win a set of Fikse wheels courtesy of IB and Fikse (see here).
It took a little while for the wheels to be custom machined but I finally got them and thought I'd show them off. Thanks to IB and Fikse for a beautiful set of rims.
I selected a set of Mach V rims in Race Satin finish with a full clear coat for my 964. The rims are 8" x 18" ET51 and 9.5" x 18" ET44.

Couple of questions - l've been corresponding with them, and the 18's seem to be 56 mm on the 8" fronts and 50 mm on the 9.5 rears. You managed to get custom offsets? Will your rims stick out?
Also, I do realise that they're not monoblocks, but noticed that they're bolted on from the back. I thought they would be welded. Do these need maintenance like the bolts on the Speedlines?

On the rear, my 17" rims are only 9" wide but the 18" rims I have are 10" wide with ET 65 (MY02 5-spokes). Fikse tell me that the rims they made me are 9.5" wide, but the rims I have are actually 10" on the rear by my tape measure. For the 10" ET65 rims I have, I have to run a 21mm spacer, making an effective ET of 44.
That explains my decision making process and Allan at Fikse agrees that these are the best measurements to fit my car and it's geometry (Euro RS settings with -2.5f and -3.2r camber) but I have not tried them yet.
I don't know if the bolts require service - good question.

I was thinking of 225/285 MPS's but I'll have to research what will fit.
On my 18" x 8"/10" MY02 rims I have 225/265 rims but I think I can squeeze a larger tire in the rear.

If I could have reached -3.2r, then my 10ET40 wheels wouldn't have needed the fender rolling.
I watched the alignment guy and the most he could get was -2.0r .. hence needing a few mm of fender rolling.

Very light!
I read that for every lb of weight saved in rotating mass (wheel) you save 10 lbs in static weight. For every 120 lbs saved in static weight you gain the equivalent in 17 BHP.
My guess is you'll save at least 10 to 20 lbs in rotating mass so you can expect a nice gain in equivalent BHP! :-)

I use the same wheels on my track car. Wonderfully light and look great just wish I opted for the full clear. Smart choice.
