At 380 Euro I might be using the wood & 2x4 method

There was an earlier quote in the thread around $200, I will have to take a look at that and see if there are "hidden" costs with the jack.

I've had this one for over a year and I have been pleased with it so far:

That sounds too good to be true! Are you lowered? I needed to be at 3" or lower with my lowered car, so that one wouldn't work. Before I lowered, my cheapo auto zone jack worked, I think it was around 3.75-4" minimum lift.

My car was already lowered when I bought it so I'm not quite sure how much lower it sits than stock. I took the round disc (cup) off the riser and now the jack is about 3 3/8" high at low position. No problems getting it under the motor or any of the jacking points.

Here is the same jack available in the US for $129.99 (now you know why I have moved back to the US):

Just saw these over on the 997 board. The picture on the company website shows a 964 (so we know it works). Seems damn expensive for a set of stands. For a few hundred more you could probably get a mid rise lift. I'm on the fence. Don't know if its worth it.

Thoughts?

Now this is what I was looking for from the 964 Rennlisters...something innovative. What is the pricing? Are these aluminum?

I know there is something called a MaxJax that is interesting as well. Portable with a lower ceiling height. Has anyone seen a live demo or used one of these?

One of those pictures has a rennlister named Wachuko. Search his name and pm him. He even lists it on his signature.

I bought one of these from a Costco cash and carry here in the UK around 4 years ago. Arcan 3.5t low-entry trolley jack. It's very solid, very heavy and well built. I've been using it regularly and it's still perfect. I can hardly lift it but its rolls around the garage floor with no problems.

Even with a hockey puck on the pad it fits easily under the jacking points of my euro RS (which is quite a bit lower than a standard 964).

If you're the type who's happy to jack under the engine/gearbox it reaches all the way under and the handle on full travel doesn't even touch the rear PU.

If you don't need to carry it around, HFTools sells a steel low profile (2.75" minimum height) jack for $79 - 20% w/a coupon that runs in many auto mags and Sunday papers. Works well but its a heavy monster. That Omega jack that Vandit showed is nice too, but I'm too old to lift it.
