Well I gave up looking for a manufactured split grill for my 964 so I decided to print an insert with my 3D printer . Did not come out too bad and rustoleum Sunrise Red is pretty close to Guards Red

Looks good John, great idea on the insert since it is totally reversible. I wonder if it would be better to paint the legs that lock into the OEM grille in a satin/flat black instead of red.

Thanks , Yes I thought of that . But wanted the illusion of the insert actually being a solid part of the grill with the slats stopping at the split.
I have an earlier prototype that I will paint the legs black on and see how it looks

John, I really like that. Well done.

Mine has continued down the SWB decklid path, should be back from paint very soon.

Got it, I thought that with painting the legs black it may give the illusion that the insert is floating on top of the slats. Either way, I like what you've done, great work.

With the section painted body color, it looks more like the 993C2S

John,

I like you have been trying to come up with a solution for a split grill/split grill look. You have created an elegant and unique solution. Looks awesome.
