Default Anyone heard of Euromasters?

Anyone out there heard and/or bought from euromasters out in california? They restore classic, aircooled porches for what seems to me at a reasonable cost. The owner quoted me $27k total and 1/2 down to start for a resored 964: new paint, new interior, new tires, tuned engine, and ice-cold A/C.

I'm buying a porsche for the first time and I'm tired of trying to find the one I want. Any info out there on this company? Thanks

thats a lot of money for a 964 restored or not if you are going to use it as a driver.

On the contrary, $27K for a restoration on a $60k+ car new in the early 90s sounds like a very good price... Starting with a clean car worth $20K still gets you out the door for under $50k total. I'd be very interested in seeing the quality of their work...

Go for it, then post pics! I liked their 2.7 RS Clone cars as well...

Hearsay but why not buy a slightly used 997 or brand new cayman?

Edit: maybe I read that wrong, 27k total? If so that is not bad.

$27K sounds too good to be true. Think about it this way. Add up the various costs. Core car, interior, paint, tune, tires, 'just general stuff', and then add overhead and profit. I don't see how they can get the core cheap eonugh in good enough condition so they don't have to do major mech or rust work.

When I look at their site, I see a 'Las Vegas' like facility. You, the customer/consumer/gambler have to pay for that. Admittedly they do have economies of scale. And, with a cursory check, I have not seen 16 customers howling for their scalps; that's good news. At a minimum, you should hire someone to do a thourough PPI before signing the first check.

Have fun!

'tcabler' - I'm very familiar with Euromasters. My buisness is located 3 miles from their shop/sales room. I have also visited their facility on numerous occasions and they are a good outfit. Their restored cars are immaculate. I almost bought a restored 996 from them but we haggled over 3K and I went elsewhere and ended up with a 964. I used them for my 90K service on my Boxster and I'm pleased. I also think 25K for a fully restored 964 is a good price, as they do a complete and good job. Their show room is impressive with their restored cars.
