Default ROW 964 RS Springs on US M030 Shocks

All,

In am interested in buying a set of ROW 964 RS Springs. Before I do, I'd like to find out if these will fir on the US M030 shocks. If they fit, how much will it lower the car?

Is anyone running this setup?

Thanks
John

M030 Shocks are not as short as RS shocks. If it was my car, I would not mix the RS spring rate with the M030 shock valving. This is key to getting the car to handle correctly. Is the car for street or track? RS springs are twice as stiff in the rear as an Eibach Prokit for instance.

John, if it's just for looks, you'll be fine but it's not a good set-up especially since your rear springs have likely sagged a bit already. A good economic compromise would be to use the ROW stock springs (which would not be as stiff) and your existing shocks - I did that on my turbo. To do it "right", you can replace your current set-up with H&R (turbo) Red & Bilsteins. I went all the way and did PSS-10s all the way round and everything is adjustable.

Here is some info on ride height measurements and comparisons:

Thanks for the responses. I went ahead and purchased the h&r's but am now curious about ROW MO30's.

Anybody have any success installing these ROW springs on the US MO30 shocks?

Thanks
John

Hi John,

If you have any interest, I purchased a set of Andial sport springs and the sport Boge shocks that Andial sold in the day (circa 1992-94) from a fellow Rennlister. It dropped my car to a perfect ride Ht. (read 25.25" from top of fender lip, through 17" Cup 1 wheel centers to ground at all 4 wheels). I loved the look. The ride was firmer than stock, for sure, but not as firm as I was looking for. I settled on a new coilover system, KWV3. Just to give you an idea, I am now running those at 70% hard, which is what I wanted, but would be way firm for most drivers. The Andial system includes the 4 springs and shocks, and the rear top mounts. All you'de need is to bolt your existing stock top mounts to the fronts and plug them in. I'm into these for $500. If you have interest, PM me and we can work out a fair deal. For more info on these, search the 964 section using search words "Andial RS springs", the thread is called "can you identify these springs". According to the Rennlister I bought these from, there is maybe 18K miles on them. Judging from the condition, I'd say he is about right. If you want to lower the ride height appropriately, but want a shock closer to stock, maybe similar to the Euro C2 set-up, this may be what you are looking for. I'd say they are firmer than H&R greens, but not as firm as the Reds.

Let me know. Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

Thanks for the offer but I think I'll just swap springs for now.

Still looking for info on ROW M030 Springs, on US M030 Shocks.

Thanks
John
