Default Cup car/RS bonnet/trunk release

Hi does anyone know where and how the bonnet/trunk release is located on cars with a full cage?

Pics would be great.

Thanks

Lee,

Not a huge help but look at the interior pics of the C4 RSL

http://www.moorespeed.com/sales/cars/964RSLT.html

Looks to be what looks like a red handle similar to the electrical kill switch in the bonnet release area

Of course it may be nothing of the sort

Thanks Freedman.... thats a lovely car!

I think the red pull handle is the engine kill switch.

If you look at the pic under the steering column there still seems to be the bonnet pull there?

You could well be right, I wasnt aware that LHD cars had the release on the opposite side

Cup cars appear to have the kill switch in that location though

They are right where the factory puts them on the street cars, except those which use hood pins, like the cups...

The race cars use pins w/o any latch, which is why some many hoods get bent.

My cup car has exactly the same arrangement as my old C2 - I can take a photo this evening.

Full cage cars used hood pins - and deleted the latch and release. *generally*
although you can use the stock release with the cage if it is done in the same location as the factory or as the C4 Lw is setup

In the C4 LW picture - the handle (silver) the drivers side, beside the key and light switch is the electrical kill switch which runs to the trunk mounted kill switch (the other pull is on the drivers side cowl)
the lever on the passanger side looks like the trunk release since this car has both the pins and full hood release mechanism. which is why i said *generally* above.

Btter cup interior picture here, with the more usual red kill switch

Bonnet release may be in the same place as the road cars but its a different set up looking at this surely

Sorry, I was completely wrong about this. For a start it's on the driver's (LHD) side, and has a different handle. Here are some pics:

Hi Lee,

I'm in Cobham (near M25 / A3 junction) - whereabouts are you? Quite happy to show you the car. There are a few pics in issue 62 of Total 911 as well, as Sundeep was using it as his reference for his 964 build.

Cheers
Ian

Nice to see that you've still got the mud from Curborough in the footwells, Ian!
