Thanks for the informative link and all comments. I was really just going to check with Kyle how he was getting on with his purchase, as i believe its about time i change the Lambda sensor anyway, so why not ditch the 20 year old cat. But i think I am going to get a bypass made with the 02 sensor a little better positioned than the ebay one and with a more natural smooth bend link the FVD one in the 2nd link.

Will be interesting to see what turns up when its done...

I fitted 1 of these Catalytic by-pass pipes last week. I plugged the lambda sensor hole (on the pipe) and fitted a lamda sensor loopback (fits onto the end of th eloom in the engine bay. The sensor hole is in exactly the same position as on the original Cat, should you choose to refit.

its made a noticable difference to the car, there is more push from lower in the rev range - also its now quieter (only cause the cat was knackered and fell into 2 pieces as I was removing.)
