Default what do you drive for a Second car?

Well, I use my 964 as my everyday driver but I do have a back up I case my car needs to go to the shop or if I need to go to the airport and leave my car in the lot. I certainly would never leave my 964 there as it wouldn't be there whenI got back. Anyway, I have been using my X's piece of crap Durango, but I can't take it anymore and want to trade it in and get something complementary to the Porsche. Maybe a bit of luxury, maybe even a, ok wait for it, a 4 door. There I said it. I am going to by used and don't want to spend more than $15,000. What do you drive for a second car? Any suggestions?

we have a BMW Z3 which is a nice compliment to the 964, however, we are looking, now, for a cheap SUV.

If you want a sedan maybe a Mazda Speed 6, I liked my Mazda 6.

I drive a 2003 Golf TDI 130. Averages 42-47 mpg, reasonably comfy.

1990 BMW 325iX

Perfect DD for me with a silky smooth, decently torquey I-6 and a 5-speed, and a curb weight south of 3000lbs. Probably not what you're looking for at all, but is a 'period-correct' complement to the 964. Decent gas mileage for an AWD car (27ish highway) and for what you can pick up a nice one for, you've got tons of 964 money left over

Plus they're the Honda Civics of German cars, at least as far as reliability (not so as far as 'forget-ability' - still very very fun to drive). So simple barely anything goes wrong with them, and easy & very cheap preventative maintenance.

Honda Ridgeline truck love it and would highly recommend it. Drives like a regular car almost, tons of space, can tow, haul Porsche parts or my music gear and it's very comfy. And you can't beat the Honda reliability and resale value.

I bought a boxster before the 964 and still use it as the daily driver.

The 964 used to be the back up to the Audi, but now it's the other way round. The 964 is too fun not to drive daily

That being said, I'll drive the A6 when I want to waft around, but quickly:

Brilliant Black more fun than Guards Red for testing waxes

Our Audi S4 makes a nice counterpoint to the 964: quiet and refined where the 964 is raucous, but very quick with 400 Nm torque from 1800-3500 - and - of course - Audi fit, finish and build quality. Oh - and Bilstein Sports suspension helps it around corners...

2004 F-150 Super Crew 4WD, 5.4L

It can carry 4 people comfortable, store a bunch of stuff in the bed with the cap, and can tow just about anything I'd ever want to tow.

It took me to and from Alaska, about 5500 miles each way. Aside from the abysmal fuel economy (14-16), it's a great truck.

Like Chase, period correct with a 1991 Alfa 164S. Four doors and an amazing sounding italian V6 engine.
Fit and finish are nice but reliability, well it looks good at least...
And for reliability and hauling stuff (and kids) we have a Sienna AWD minivan (essentially a 7 passenger SUV that gets minivan gas milage).
Toyota quality - once you start driving one you'll have a hard time stopping.
