Cut where clocks holes are from center then glue surroundings, repeating on every hole for the clocks.

Andy makes it look so easy, but takes time and stretching to get a perfect finish.

Final clock hole is cut and folded.

Then commence to cut the surrounding leather around the clock area below.

Close up of the finish.

Now time to try out the dash for trial fit to see how well it fits after it was cut and retrimmed.

At least the interior is taking shape now we have started!

SPG's in the picture V.

Yes Andy is the master trimmer behind these project cars, only the best i guess. I believe he does a lot of work for 9M cars too.

And that is why they don't make cars like ours this way anymore. Imagine all those hours spent by Herr Fritz on the production line cutting and stretching!

Looking great Nski. Hope to see it in the flesh one day soon. As they say out here in Essex, well jel!

Why did he not remove the small nuts holding the dimmer and wiper interval stalks? If any goes bad, it will be a pain to remove.

Simply stunning Norm!

Great attention to detail there.

Do you have a show or event etc that you're aiming to get finished for?

Am sure theres still cars made this way, with quicker methods, especially dicing the inner body with glue for panels and leather to be stuck down!hehehe

Am sure Herr Fritz craftmen would be skilled to be done within minutes! If not the production line would be slowed down losing money

Do you mean the small nut thats underneath the overcut of the leather? or do you mean the plastic cap-***** that adjust the dimmer and wiper interval? At this stage nothing is a pain to remove I can tell you

Not really Chris, not in a rush at this stage. It was originally for this summer, but due to work its stalled things. Hopefully soon we hope! Nowadays am just enjoying my white 964 attending odd meetings but not show & shine.

The odd big shows I do attend but mainly as a spectator, least then I can enjoy without making a big fuss about my own car.

Watchout for Greg Howells.....he coming up strong with his red 964. As for Richie with Brian Hedersons BBS's will be the scene wh0re.

I mean the small nuts that are now under the leather. I would have made small holes and fitted the holding nuts over the leather, as the factory did when they fitted leather (or carbon) dash coverings.

Well Norm I have to say that your car looks as good in the flesh as on these photos.
Just had mine serviced there today and couldn't help but take a peak - I hope you don't mind. The attention to detail is tremendous and I was a tad envious. The interior is perfect and now that I've seen the alacantra dash top that is definately the way I intend to go if/when I get round to retrimming some of the worn bits (after sourcing a new silencer which has apparently split )
I've been following this thread since the start after stumbling onto it through a link on 911uk and this is how I started on Rennlist so it was a bit of a bonus to see the car today. Actually it was the second bonus of the day after receiving a 964 engine rebuild masterclass from Dave.

Top work - I would be bursting to get that finished if I was you.
