Default RS motor mounts

Any advice if I need an engine carrier reinforcement after RS mounts installed. I don't plan to track this car. Thanks in advance.

yeah, but they say and solid or stiff mount will need the reinforcement.

I was told by a VERY respected local tuner here in Oregon that unless I was going w/solid mounts on a track car, I didn't need to add the brace in his opinion. Now, being the cautious type, I added the Rennline gusset anyway. I figured that it was cheap insurance.

I love the RS mounts by the way.

I was looking into it myself and was told any solid or stiff mounts and not track it or even if you were going to track with stock mounts need it or it was going to crack.

That's just what my research has led me to believe.

Thanks for the quick responses. Sounds like there's some controversy. Will
Probably install one - good insurance!

Which washers does one need to buy when getting the mounts? The Pelican site has like 4 different kinds...

I suspect my mounts are done for after 85k miles, how do I check them if they're toast or not?

I mostly use my car on the street and with some slalom and autocross mixed in, should I go for new stock mounts or RS ones? I do not want any excessive sound increase inside the car.

if they are stock mounts they will sag, leak oil, and if you remove them from the car and shake them you will hear oil sloshing around inside.

You probably just want a stock mount. If you track the car or use a stiff solid mount it has the propensity to crack the engine cradle.

My carrier cracked with all stock parts on a 60k mile car. It had no track time on it.

The carrier reinforcement is cheap insurance, regardless of stock or stiffer mounts.
