Default Cup - tow hook from the UK

Hi, the Cup front tow hook is out of stock from Porsche Motorsport and a friend of mine want one. There were some posts some time ago about a company in the UK who did a replica of the cup-version. Some of you guys in the UK bought&mounted it I remember. I can't find the thread. Does anyone know this company or can anyone find the thread/link?

Thanks,

Thomas

Yeah, that is probably a part of it. I remember that it was a link that I had a look at where you could see how it fits, mount it and in different colours. But I'll try an email to Steve.

Steve Henson had them made (so not a company as such). He was a '64RS owner but has now 'traded down' to a GT3RS I saw him a couple of weeks ago and we chatted about them - I think he may have a few left.

It's simply a piece of 10mm bar with threaded ends, bent into a long 'U' then gloss powder coated in red or yellow.

I have one on my car. Was pretty easy to fit and looks the part, but could probably do with a little more reinforcement of the front panel that it bolts through. Generally I'm pretty happy with it, though thankfully I've not had to use it in anger !

yeah, the design is simple but you still have to have the material, bend it in a nice loop, make the threads and weld the washers. Therefore my friend is looking for "ready to go-kit".

And yes the front panle is to weak as it is. I have 5 mm thick aluminium bracket running along the inside of the trunk.

Thank for your help guys!

Here's the thread about Steve's towing eyes on the PCGB forum:

Not sure if you can access the link without being a forum member but I'm sure if you PM Rich (RSGulp) he'll be able to give you Steve's e-mail address
