Default Seat choice - 'big' guys only!

Having done a few a/x's and with a view to DE's in 2011 I'm thinking of installing new fixed back seats as my stock comfort seats seem to be lacking in lateral support.

At 6'2" (36ish" waist / 32" leg - long torso) and 220lbs, I'm curious to see what other 'big' guys are using?

Recaro Pole Positions seem to fit my budget whether my **** fits might be another thing altogether

I know many people frawn on this, but I have found Kirkey racing seat very comfortable and well priced. They come in may sizes, but you have to be creative with their installation. I mounted my intermediate racing seat using a Recaro slider and Kirkey mounts in my 944 S2 race car. The passenger side seat (cheapest Kirkey seat) is bolted to the floor, but again mine is a race car.

I'm considering a switch to racing shells as well. FWIW I'm 6'3 220lbs W36 and I fit in the Recaro PPs. It's a snug fit but it works. Dunno about longer trips though, havn't sat in it for long.. Keep in mind though that the Recaro SPG's are much smaller so you won't fit in those. Recaro PP's are your best bet or SPG XL.

I'm 6 ft & 225 lbs and fit very comfortably in my Recaro Profi XL. Its wider than the PP and I've added a lumbar pad as well as strategically placed memory foam (under the removable upholstery) for more comfort.

As a Recaro dealer, I thought this was my best choice,.....

SPG XL's. Fit very well and are "comfortable" enough to drive to and from the DE's and short jaunts around the coutryside.

I'm 6'2.5" and my weight has ranged from 235 to 200 and I have always loved my Pole Positions. When I first had them I would drive to and from the track (up to 4 hours) and they are comfortable. I also have driven the car as a daily driver with them and think they are quite comfortable.

I still recommend spending some time to find a local rennlister so you can sit in the differnt seats to be sure they fit well for you.

Rob,

We must be twins! ;O). I have SPGs in my Cup at the lowest position with no cushions in it, *** gets a bit numb after an hour on track.

Without helmet I can get the thin spacer pad under my butt. The width is fine for me without cushions but I am fit! :O)

You need to try before you buy.

The pole positions in the RS and in my CS are wider fit so would be my recommendation.

I have very long back, 36" waist and 32/33 inside leg. Same height. 100kg

I'm 6' 2'' and I found that the belt holes in the Pole Positions are too low for my shoulders. SPG XL's have the belt holes a little higher. That's the way I will be going.

Try sitting in them before you make a decision.
