Default Looking for a 964 C2 manual coupe.Straight chassis, clean title.

Mileage is not really an issue. Just a straight frame and clean title.

I'm in Los Angeles. So CA cars would be better.

Send email to mfawaz@agentace.com

thanks guys!!

I know so many people scouring all of the ads daily looking for the exact same thing as you...at least you're not being overly picky and only want a black interior, no red/white exterior, etc..

I used to search multiple websites (nationwide searches) multiple times a day and a lot of times the cars would be sold even though they were posted in the morning and I called in the evening. I think a lot of guys are buying these cars sight unseen/don't care about a PPI. If you go on autotrader and do nationwide searches for 964 there is a lot...but if you narrow it down to coupes/5 speed, it's usually less than 5.

I think the best tool is craiglook.com (no affiliation)
It searches craigslist nationwide and has thumbnail photos for quick viewing. The trick to use this is to put something like this in the search box...
porsche -1967 -1968 -1969 -1970 -1971 -1972 -1973 -1974 -1975 -1976 -1977 -1978 -1979 -1980 -1981 -1982 -1983 -1984 -1985 -1986 -1987 -1988 -1989 -1999 -2000 -2001 -2002 -2003 -99 -00 -01 -356 -968 -boxster -boxter -speedster -944 -928 -944S -914 -911SC -993 -targa -cayenne -convertible

Then add your own price parameters on the left side to narrow down the results.

It sounds ridiculous but I kept on missing so many ads because I would search for Porsche 964 or 1992 Porsche....but then later I would find an ad for a '91 Porsche 911 that I totally missed. If you do a regular search for 911, it comes up with like 50+ pages that takes forever to look through. If you try to be specific, it misses a lot.

I have been helping a friend find a 964/993 for over a year. The better cars were always gone the day they went on the market. He pulled the trigger yesterday on a red, 6-speed, sunroof coupe. 61,xxx miles, straight frame, no oil leaks. Only mod was H&R springs/Bilsteins/lowered. Asking price was $27,500. He paid asking. We had seen cars that were not as nice priced in the 30s get away.

The same car in a 964 would be lucky to fetch $24K. His biggest reason for wanting a 993 is the hydraulic lifters (no periodic valve adjustments).

Lucky Americans!

In Sweden a nice low mileage 964 C2 man cost about 40 000 USD

Good luck finding your car!

Lucky Svensker, you go over to Danmark and see what you pay for the same car.

Huh! You think that's expensive! Have a look at the prices being asked here in Oz!

http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...lpartial&D=964

Also NB that $Au is now very close to $US, so prices should be comparable...

Rob in oz, you lot are being bent over backwards and given the old DBF!

For the price of a c2 in oz, you can get a 3.6turbo in the uk!

Here's the rub: In the case of vehicles that are normally sold new in Oz (such as Porsches), unless it's a personal vehicle that you've owned O/S, you can't import anything later than a 1989 build without punitive charges. People who attempt to subvert the system end up with the car being unregisterable or confiscated. The best compromise is to import a car "for competition use" which allows road use to and from competition events.

Been also trying to find a clean one for a friend of mine and same exact thing. The clean cars are usually gone instantly. Good luck in your search!

Just be aware that a 964 cost close to $200K in Oz in 1993... and a 3.6 Turbo cost $300K! So yes - we've been reamed on a regular basis over many years! But our Porsches don't see salt and are usually rust free...
