Default 964's in Porsche Club GB

Hi All,

I have been looking for a 964 C2 for a while now.

I am thinking of joining the PCGB to see if any other cars come up for sale in there. I can't seem to find what I am looking for.

Will I find any cars there that may sell before they go to the regular piston heads, 911PW or autotrader routes?

Thanks
Derek

The for sale section for cars is available to view without paying membership i think.

Good place to start is a wanted add on the PCGB forum and and advert in Porsche Post.

C2 coupes are in demand so not easy to find a good one. Try the 964 section on the PCGB forum.

I have 2! :O)

I wouldn't want to buy a car from someone who isn't a porsche nut. Also don't overlook the good independents either - these guys will filter out the rubbish, so you don't have to.

There is indeed a thread entitled '964s for sale' on the 964 section of the PCGB forum but there's currently no C2s for sale in it. One came up earlier in the year and sold within a day. I like Charles' idea because a wanted ad might persuade somebody to sell theirs if they see a demand.

It's also worth noting that a PCGB member will often advertise both on the forum and Pistonheads. Speaking of which this sounds nice:

Thanks guys, will keep looking.

I went to see the mindnight blue C2 on piston heads. Not a bad car but does need money spent on it. I was not keen on the white interior on it also.

However, I could tear out the interior and put a black RS Carpet kit, black RS door cards change wheels and give it a full respray but would be looking at close to £5k for all that.

Bought mine from the for sale section on PCGB. Read through the replies and even saw posts from the previous owner about the car in that thread. Owner was nice and IIRC Boxsey even posted in the sale thread. Good genuine car it seems so well pleased. I got it before it went on Piston Heads as i was scanning the PCGB in anticipation for a good car coming there first

A wanted ad on PCGB and 911.uk would maybe do the job, but there's quite a demand at the mo.

You could register your details with the big specialists and ask them to keep an eye out for a car that meets your spec?

Try sending a note to Amanda Law, the 964 register secretary - 964@porscheclubgb.com. She should have contacts with current owners who want to sell up.

Also, Roly Baldwin at Eporsch in Surrey is one of a handful of dealers that seem to specialise in the 964 era. He may be able to give you some pointers, or look out for a car for you.

Gool luck!
