will defer to those more knowlegeable, but just seems to me - regardless of all rebuilt/replaced mileage at a point in time becomes an issue (metal fatique??).....and certainly has limited appeal, no?
when does a car become a part out contender?

521k at 30 mpg = 17,366 gallons .
One gas tanker truck = 9000 gallons
521k / 30k = 17 sets of tires ?
I was just reading a story about a guy looking for a cessna 150
he said the 5000 hours was in the past thought to be a lot of hours
but that 10000 hours is now what he was finding .

When I was an Offshore Helicopter Pilot in the Gulf of Mexico in the late 1990's, I flew a 1970's Bell 206 Jet Ranger with over 20,000 flight hours on it! It had been refurbished several times.

Probably a bit of a "Triggers broom".
For those not in the UK there is a sketch where trigger claims he has had the same broom from new but has only replaced the handle three times and the brush head four times.
I'm sure at that mileage there won't be much original car left.

First, 19k is waaay too high for a car w/ this mileage.
And, it's not just the mileage, but also the type of mileage. I'm beeting that a considerable amount of the mileage is track mileage.
This car's gonna need additional repair as there are many many things not mentioned in the repair list which are eventually gonna go south.
Still, any car is worth looking at before tossing it out of hand.
But, in this case, you'd also need to compare it too any other 964 that could be bought for the neighborhood of $19k.
Cheers!

Wow that is really impressive. I have heard of Mercedes and BMWs with that kind of mileage but not a Porsche. From an economic standpoint I am not sure spending the value of the car on an Andial 3.8L rebuild makes sense but you gotta love the dedication!

521k at 60 mph = 8683 hours , 8683 / 24 = 362 days , if I am doing the math correctly .
521k at 30 mpg = 17,366 gallons .
One gas tanker truck = 9000 gallons
521k / 30k = 17 sets of tires ?

....my only issue for the price of this car.....mileage is a bit of an "off" to i think 90% of the readers.....so if everything has been been redone on a 500,000 mile car, why not buy for virtually same price or a little more a car with say 75,000 miles & a new clutch - same price?
