Judging by the link I posted a few posts up, does anyone have maybe an ingenious idea to add heat exchangers to my setup?
Could some shop fabricate heat exchange boxes? (I'm going to guess that's expensive)
Could 993 heat exchangers be adapted?
I'll probably just have to man up and not have heat.

yeah. I though a got a dream gig to pick up an RSR from New York and drive it back to Chicago... in November.
Froze my *** off, couldn't see out of the thing, no heat and had drive the interstate with the windows part way down. I am sure it was warmer outside the car at a stop than inside.

A few years ago, I did a mid-January round trip to Seattle, sans heat, and I'll NEVER do anything like that again. I experienced the very same things you did and my teeth didn't quit rattling for 24 hours. I was even bundled up like Bibendum.

993 HE's can be installed but will not fit those mufflers without some work. If you need heat, this is where I'd begin the process and I'd use a custom muffler instead of the FVD unit.
