Default Scantool V2.0 almost ready - Update

We've been getting a lot of interest, and PM questions, so I wanted to provide an update: I wanted to let you all know that Ricardo and I have finalized the design and the production planning for the OBD1 Scantool, round 2. We will be building a first round of 40, and then subsequent rounds as demand dictates.

I have a website all ready to go to accept orders, and we will be posting this site live in mid August to take orders on the Scantool. This date is due to some work demands, and time out of the country... we need to schedule some time to build the kits and fulfill orders.

We're almost there! The hard work of design and planning is done. Stay tuned... I will release the ordering information on this thread as well as on the now somewhat long Scantool Group Buy thread. We love to hear your reactions here, but don't leave a reply here for an order, there will be a specific site to handle that to ensure no one will miss out.

Thanks

I have one of the original scantool units and love it. Will the new ones be the same or have you made any updates or changes?

There are two Porsche scanners with extensive capabilities that have been
available for years; Durametric, Autoenginuity.

These will essentially be the same unit that was available in the first round.

We are planning to provide the existing Scantool V.4 software and the latest version of OBDPlot.

Scantool is not, as far as I know, subject to any further development. OBDPlot does however have updates from time to time. We'll be putting the latest in with the kit.

Our price will be significantly less than Durametric's, with no license restriction to three VIN numbers.

I don't see an OBD1 solution for the 964 on the Autoenginuity site.. though it does seem to have a lot of great functionality for the later cars.
